Dedicated to the diamond“Dedicated to the Diamond” is the Wolfpack off-season training incentive program. The purpose of this program is to encourage our softball athletes to commit to off-season skill development. The criteria for successful completion of the program will be split into offensive and defensive categories. On the offensive side of the program we will measure commitment on swing counts. Five thousand swings is the goal that has been set. On average an athlete will take approximately 100 swings per workout session. These swings must be taken between the beginning of the school year and the first day of tryouts. On the defensive side of the program we will focus on position work and skill development. A minimum of twenty practice hours that are focused on defensive work must be completed to accomplish this goal. If an athlete successfully completes all of the criteria for the “Dedicated to the Diamond” program then they will receive a hooded sweatshirt, their name on a plaque, and most importantly the pride in the accomplishment itself. Coach Fors will have time logs that will help athletes track their progress. This program is completely optional and has been developed to encourage off-season skill development.
